Directions:
Thaba Thabo is 30 km from Ficksburg, 220 km from Bloemfontein, 330 km from Johannesburg and 480 km from Durban by road.
The turnoff onto the gravel road to Thaba Thabo is between Ficksburg and Fouriesburg on the R26. Take either the S385 or S384 gravel roads.
From Gauteng take the N3 towards Durban, take exit 169 for R26/R103 (Villiers). Turn right onto R103 and continue onto R26. Proceed past Villiers, Frankfort, Tweeling, Reitz, Bethlehem and Fouriesburg on the road towards Ficksburg.
Between Fouriesburg and Ficksburg turn right onto the S385 gravel road and continue for 8.3km. Turn right at the crossroad and continue past Franshoek Mountain Lodge, through a stream and past a polo field. After the polo field keep left and continue through a farm gate and onto a small farm road to the Thaba Thabo main gate. Please ensure that you close all gates behind you.
The last 10 km are on tertiary dirt road and depending on the weather can be rough or muddy.
Minibuses, SUV`s and pickups are ideal. On a first visit, it is best to arrive before dark.
